President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is currently attending the Extraordinary Summit of the Organ Troika and SADC Troika at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Zambia.
On arrival, President Chakwera along with the presidents of Angola and Mozambique were welcomed by Zambia’s President, Hakainde Hichilema.
Chaired by the host country’s president, the summit will primarily focus on discussions regarding the security situation in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Cabo Delgado in Northern Mozambique.
One of the key areas of discussion will be troops contribution from SADC member countries to assist in restoring peace and unity in the mentioned regions.
These contributions are divided into two categories: the SADC Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (SAMIDRC) and the SADC Mission in Mozambique (SAMIM), both of which require additional support.
