President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has expressed his deep gratitude to the Muslim World League for its support to Malawi over the past 25 years.
Dr Chakwera praised the League for being the first organisation to assist Malawi during the El Niño disaster, providing aid that has reached over 200,000 households across 23 districts.
The President also acknowledged the significant support the League has provided to orphans in the country.
In his remarks, Dr Mohammad Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League, emphasised the importance of promoting the strong ties of brotherhood between Saudi Arabia and Malawi.
He reaffirmed the league’s commitment to continuing its support for Malawi through its humanitarian foundation and expressed his appreciation to President Chakwera for his ongoing support of the league’s efforts.
Minister of Gender, Community Development, and Social Welfare, Jean Sendeza, also commended the Muslim World League for its contributions, particularly in providing potable water and shelter to orphans and widows.
