President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and the First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera have arrived in Beijing for the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit.
President Chakwera arrived through Beijing Capital International Airport and was received by the Chinese Head of State Administration responsible for radio, film and Television, Cao Shumin and Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo, who was accompanied by Malawi Ambassador to China, Allan Chintedza.
Dr Chakwera is also expected to hold bilateral talks with the President Xi Jinping and Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, Han Zheng and will be hosted to a dinner
The Malawi President is also scheduled to engage Chinese companies and other senior government officials
