MBC SIGNS PACT ON AIRING EXCLUSIVE SIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAMMES

The Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has partnered with the Malawi National Association for the Deaf (MANAD) to introduce Sign Language Story Time, an all-sign language programme.

Signing a Memorandum of Understanding in Blantyre, MBC Director General, George Kasakula, emphasised the corporation’s commitment to promoting inclusivity.

He added that the development makes MBC the first broadcaster in Malawi to air such content on its television platforms.

In his remarks, MANAD Executive Director, Byson Chimenya, applauded MBC for recognising the significance of bridging the language gap for the deaf in television programming.
