Roads Authority spokesperson, Portia Kajanga, says construction of the new Lilongwe Bridge is progressing smoothly and the beam launching phase is expected to be completed within two months.
Kajanga also said the authority is working hand in hand with the community to ensure that there are minimal incidents of theft.
The bridge is being constructed with support from the Japanese government through a grant of about K36 billion.
Once completed, the new bridge is expected to improve transportation, boost economic growth and add to the city’s beauty.
