Tigresses shooter Awema Chikaonda has been named the Rainbow Paints Blantyre District Netball League Player of the Week after votes cast by netball fans and scrutiny from technical experts.
Chikaonda secured 76 percent of the votes.
Chikaonda she goes away with K50,000 and items from the award sponsors, GM Plastics Industry.
Linda Alnord came second with 12 percent of the votes, followed by Florence Gamuka with 8 percent. Grace Nkhoma and Pleasant Barnet each received 2 percent.
Earlier this month, GM Plastics and the Blantyre District Netball Committee signed a 12-week sponsorship agreement for the Player of the Week award.
