All roads will this weekend lead to Kumanda Ground in Chileka Blantyre where there will be the official launch of the inaugural Southern Region Tambala Super Cup.
Sponsored by Amazon Group, the K10 million cup will be for teams under the Blantyre District Football Committee (BDFC).
According to the Managing Director of Amazon Group, Moses Kunkuyu, the current amount is what he described as seed money as it is subject to further multiple sponsorship from other well wishers.
Kunkuyu who is also Minister of Information expressed confidence that the cup will greatly contribute to the development of football in the country.
Meanwhile, BDFC Chairperson, Raphael Humba, has since commended Kunkuyu for coming up with such a sponsorship which is the first of its kind for the lower league.
The launch will be spiced up by various activities including live performances by the Black Missionaries and Simon & Kendal.
