The sieving process of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is expected to commence, as teams battle it out for round of 16 qualification.
This evening, in Group A, Ivory Coast will lock horns against Equatorial Guinea followed by Nigeria against Guinea Bissau.
Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria have 4 points, Ivory Coast have 3 points and Guinea Bissau have none.
In Group B, Cape Verde – who already qualified, will face Egypt currently with 2 points while Mozambique is in a decider against Ghana as they all share a point.
On Tuesday, AFCON will witness the finalists of the next round in Groups C and D while on Wednesday Groups E and F will wrap up their assignments.
So far, the tournament has registered 65 goals. No goalless draw has been recorded. Senegal is the highest-scoring team with six goals, while Gambia is the lowest with no goal.
Equatorial Guinea’s Emilio Nsue and Baghdad Bounedja of Algeria are the leading scorers with three goals apiece.
