Mzuzu University says short courses it is offering through its Test and Training Centre for Renewable Energy Technologies (TCRET) are making a difference in the energy sector of the country.
Dean of the Faculty of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Khumbo Kumwenda, made the remarks during closing ceremony for the TCRET short course on planning, design, installation, and management of renewable energy systems, held at Mzuzu University Lilongwe ODL Satellite Centre.
Kumwenda lauded the participants for their dedication and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in addressing the country’s energy challenges.
Representing the Ministry of Energy, Carol Dhaka, emphasized the significance of knowledge transfer in advancing the renewable energy sector. She said the ministry will continue to support efforts aimed at bridging the education gap and promoting sustainable energy practices.
Since its inception in 2004, TCRET has trained over 2000 participants, contributing significantly to the development of expertise in renewable energy.
