Youths urged to run for public office

National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) has encouraged the youth to actively participate in the 2025 General Election by running for office.

Ernest Mangani, NYCOM’s Director for Finance and Administration, made the appeal during a Muslim youth constituency engagement in Blantyre.

“Only 5% percent of the youth are in Parliament. However, the current youth policy says that 30% of young people should take up leadership positions,” he shared.

Co-founder of Muslim Youth United, Dr Hussein Twabi, equally urged the youth to be the much-needed change they want to see.
