YONECO trains journalists to enhance reporting on albinism rights

Youthnet and Counceling (YONECO) is in Zomba drilling journalists on effective reporting on the rights of people with albinism.

The training comes as part of a two year project called “Ufulu Wanga” aimed at promoting human rights of people living with albinism which YONECO is implementing in partnership with Standing Voices and Beyond Suncare.

Commissioner for the Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC), Boniface Massa, says the training is crucial as it equips journalists with contemporary skills and knowledge that will help in sensitising the general public on human rights issues.

YONECO intends to train journalists from all the districts the project is being implemented so that they report from a well formed point of view.
