VIGIL UNDERWAY AT JZU AREA 10 RESIDENCE

The body of former Malawi Congress Party President late John Zenasi Ungapake Tembo has been taken to his Area 10 residence where vigil is underway.

The body has been lying in state at MCP Headquarters in Lilongwe since morning today where the State President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and Madam Monica Chakwera led Malawians and foreign dignitaries in viewing the body and paying their last respects to the late Tembo.

In his remarks, a former close associate of JZU who later joined the Democratic Progressive Party, Dr Heatherwick Ntaba, described the late Tembo as a selfless leader who loved Malawi with all his heart.

He said Malawi has lost a giant in the political arena who had unwavering loyalty to the nation and the MCP.
