This follows their outstanding performance at Hope Christian Private Secondary School in the district, which has also been sponsoring their secondary school education for the past four years.

Willam Paul and Pilirani Tembo are pursuing a Bachelor of Animal Sciences and a Diploma in Agriculture General at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) respectively. Moses Kanthema is studying  Mathematics and Statistics at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) while Symon Ngongole is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery programme at Kamuzu University of Health Science – KUHES.

Director of Hope Christian Private Secondary School, Apostle Lapson Mbewe, said he has set aside K10 million for the bursary.

“There are many bright learners in rural areas whose parents cannot afford to pay for university education. It is the role of every able Malawian to ensure that such children are not denied the right to acquire knowledge,” said Mbewe.
