UCSSACCO donates saluting dice to Mapanga Prison Training School

United Civil Servants Sacco (UCSSACCO) has donated a K35 million saluting dice and officers’ mess to Mapanga Prison Training School in Blantyre.

The old structure was torched in 2021.

Handing over the facility, Francis Waliwa, Chief Executive Offcier for UCSSACCO, expressed delight for fulfilling the promise they made to Malawi Prison Service.

“When we were approached to support this initiative last year, we did not hesitate because we tap a lot of membership from Malawi Prison and today we are happy to see that we are handing over this magnificent structure which is crucial for national security,” said Waliwa.

Malawi Prison Service Commissioner General, Masauko Wiscot, thanked UCSSACCO for their  assistance.

“This is an exciting moment for us because Mapanga Prison Training School is the only training school for Malawi Prison Service,” said Wiscot.

Mayor of Blantyre City, Wild Ndipo, thanked UCSSACCO for constructing the modern structure and appealed to other organisations to emulate the gesture.
