Two remanded men charged with murder

Police in Chiradzulu District have arrested two men on suspicion that they murdered 47-year-old Yohane Arnold and robbed Blessings Muleriwa, a local businessman at Malindi Village.

The suspects are 23-year-old Mphatso Evance Muthemu and 40-year-old John Nsewu and the murder charge was levelled against them while on remand at Mulanje Prison.

Spokesperson for Chiradzulu Police Station, Cosmas Kagulo, says all the crimes were committed on January 21, 2024 at around 11pm and the suspects were later apprehended by Phalombe Police.

Muthemu hails from Yapa Village, Traditional Authority Nkanda in Mulanje District and Nsewu hails from Waluma Village, Traditional Authority Chikumbu in the same district.
