Tell children to work hard in school — Senior Chief Tambala

Senior Chief Tambala of Dedza District has called on parents and guardians to support initiatives that encourage learners to work hard in class.

The Chief said this at Chitundu Primary School in the District on Thursday during the presentation of assorted gifts worth K5 million to students who did well and were selected to government boarding secondary schools within Chitundu Education Zone.

Chitundu Education Zone Primary Quality Control Officer, Zacharia Joshua, said the success of the education zone is a result of good cooperation between parents and teachers who have been encouraging learners to work hard.

Member of Parliament for Dedza North, Savel Kafwafwa, said the district is regarded as the second district from the bottom with a high illiteracy rate.

Last Year, the same zone managed to send eleven students to government national secondary schools.
