Swahili, Portuguese inclusion in Malawi Syllabus on track, says Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education has said that preparations are continuing to introduce Portuguese and Swahili languages into the Malawian school curriculum.

Mphatso Nkuonera, who is the Public Relations Officer for Education, was however quick to add that the Ministry is carefully considering the impact of introducing these languages into the Malawian curriculum system.

He said there is positive collaboration between the countries involved regarding the introduction of the new languages in the Malawian curriculum.

Nkuonera further explained that Portuguese and Swahili will be taught from primary to tertiary levels of education.
