The Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court in Blantyre on Friday committed the robbery case of Mervin Suleman to the High Court, where he will also answer murder charges for hacking Rizwan Issa.
Presiding Senior Resident Magistrate Hadija Maiden suspended proceedings, pending the committal of the murder case to the High Court court.
According to Police Prosecutor Martin Thulu of Soche Police Station, the murder incident occurred last month in Chinyonga.
“The suspect, armed with dangerous weapons hacked and robbed the victim of K1.5 million,” said Thulu.
The High Court will handle both the murder and robbery cases, as it has jurisdiction to preside over both matters.
