Voter registration exercise has begun on a positive note in Mzimba North.
Random visits at Katula Community Based Organisation, Eng’congoleni School, Embombeni School and Enukweni School in Mzimba North East and Mzimba North Constituencies have revealed no challenges except slow turnout in some centers.
Within the first 2 hours of registration, not less than 15 people have registered in each of the centres.
Briefing members of District Elections Supervisory Team on Thursday, Regional Elections Officer for the Northern Region, Deverson Makwete, said the commission is confident of a successful exercise as all stakeholders are on the ground ensuring masses are encouraged to register.
“We have learnt a lot from phase 1 and 2 of the exercise and we are optimistic of a successful exercise,” said Makwete.
