PRISAM launches mock exams to boost student performance

The Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) has launched national mock examinations across its member schools to prepare learners for this year’s national examinations.

The mock exams, which started on 28 April, will run until 8 May 2025, targeting form four students across PRISAM-affiliated institutions.

PRISAM President, Ernest Kaonga, said the initiative is designed to assess students’ preparedness and promote quality performance.

“We believe in quality education. The mock exams mirror the national examination format, helping learners improve time management, understand assessment criteria, and identify strengths and weaknesses,” he explained.

Kaonga, who also manages Maranatha Private Schools Academy, emphasised that the initiative supports the government’s drive to enhance education standards across Malawi.

“PRISAM uses continuous assessment to track learners’ progress and provide tailored support ahead of the national exams,” added Kaonga.

Previously, PRISAM successfully conducted mock examinations for primary school students preparing for the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) examinations. The association plans to make the mock examinations an annual exercise for all its member institutions.
