Pray for Malawi, says President Chakwera

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has urged the clergy to continuously pray for peace and for the country to attain meaningful development.

President Chakwera made the remarks after completing his 14-day official engagements in the Northern Region, where he also had a meeting with religious leaders.

At the meeting, Chakwera said the country has potential to transform economically under his leadership since God blessed it with abundant natural resources.

He said the government will also continue providing loans to those in need, including religious leaders, through the National Economic Empowerment Fund.

He then extended best wishes to muslims as they are observing the month of Ramadan.

Pastor Dayton Mbewe was leading the delegation of faith leaders and hailed the President’s ongoing developments in the country and urged people in the North to support his economic agenda.
