Police urges collective efforts for festive season safety

Malawi Police Service has called on citizens to collaborate in ensuring safety and security during the upcoming festive season.

National Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Harry Namwaza, said the police have implemented a range of security strategies to enhance public safety during this period.

Echoing the national police, Dedza Police has also announced heightened security measures and traffic checks.

Dedza Police Officer-in-Charge, Gift Chiundira, revealed that officers would conduct beat patrols, ad hoc roadblocks, and traffic controls.

Chiundira further urged citizens to observe security precautions, such as safeguarding their homes and offices before leaving.

Meanwhile, Inkosi Kamenyagwa commended the police for their efforts to bolster security during the festive period.

“Let’s support the police and celebrate responsibly this Christmas and New Year,” he said.
