NOCMA upbeat on normalising fuel supply

National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) is still optimistic that the fuel situation will normalise once the commodity is transported from Mozambique and Tanzania.

According to NOCMA’s spokesperson, Raymond Likambale, most of the fuel is currently being transported through the Tanzanian route following the tense situation in Mozambique — which has affected the normal transportation of fuel into Malawi.

Likambale disclosed that NOCMA is managing the situation as all Malawian tankers are being re-routed to Blantyre.

He further disclosed that 10 Petrol tankers are already in Blantyre while more are on their way from Lilongwe, an exercise which shall be done daily until the situation in Mozambique normalises.
