Mulhako Wa Alhomwe cultural gathering set for October

The organizing committee for the Mulhako Wa Alhomwe annual festival says this year’s commemoration will take place from 4 October to 6 October.

Speaking during a preparatory meeting at Chonde Headquarters in Mulanje, Mulhako Wa Alhomwe Board Chairperson, Muchanankhwaye Mpuluka said this year’s festival will be special as there will be more performances and other activities.

“We have prepared a number of traditional dances, including new ones which will be exciting. In addition to this, we have constructed a Lhomwe demonstration village which will showcase the life of the Lhomwe people,” he said.

Organising chairperson for the event, Felix Tambulasi, said everything is going according to plan.

The theme for this year’s cultural gathering, is “Uniting for a Common Purpose.”
