Major General Namwali laid to rest

The body of late Major General Buxton Titus Namwali retired has been laid to rest at his home village in Thyolo.

The late Major General Namwali retired, died last Wednesday after a short illness.

Representing the Army Commander, Valentino Phiri, at the funeral, Commander for Maritime Forces Major General Francis Kakhuta Banda, described late Major General Buxton Titus Namwali as a dedicated soldier who served his country diligently.

In his eulogy first born son for late Major General Buxton Titus Namwali, Mphatso Namwali, said their father instilled a spirit of hardworking and unity in his children.

Born in 1938, late Major General Buxton Titus Namwali joined Malawi Army in 1963 and he rose through the ranks to Major General in 1976 before his retirement in 1978.

He is survived by a wife and six children.
