MEHA LAKESHORE CONFERENCE ON

The Malawi Environmental Health Association MEHA, a membership driven grouping says its annual general meeting will proceed as slated in Mangochi.
In a statement, MEHA President Elias Chimulambe said they invited Dr Chakwera to grace the occasion as guest of honour, but were not successful.
However, Chimulambe says the annual conference will proceed at the lake because it is not a government function, and that its members will have to pay participation fee, while other bills will be paid by MEHA partners.
The statement comes hot on the heels of some reports which indicated that President Chakwera was ready to grace MEHA lakeshore conference.
It also comes few days after government banned ministries, departments and government agencies from conducting conferences at the lake as part of austerity measures to save government resources.
Running under the theme: Environmental health, key to attaining global sustainable goals, will bring together local and international professionals, students, researchers in environmental health and related field.
