Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has held a press conference in Lilongwe where its officials provided updates on the party’s upcoming elective convention, scheduled for August 2024.
This convention aims to introduce new members to the National Executive Committee who will lead the party for the next five years.
MCP is notably the first major political party in Malawi to convene its elective conference in preparation for the 2025 elections.
The press briefing was chaired by Kezzie Msukwa MP, Convention Chairperson, accompanied by Moses Kunkuyu, Chairperson of the Protocol Committee and Joseph Njobvuyalema, Secretary for the committee.
Previously, the party has officially endorsed President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera as its candidate for the upcoming 2025 elections.
