Maranatha to award K5 million to top performing MSCE candidate

Maranatha Private Academy has pledged a K5 million cash reward to any student who attains six points in the forthcoming Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, regardless of whether they attend a government or private institution.

The announcement was made  during a  joint graduation ceremony for Maranatha Boys Capital Academy and Maranatha Girls Capital Academy, held in Lilongwe.

Managing Director of Maranatha Private Academy, Enerst Kaonga, said the award is part of the institution’s broader mission to inspire hard work, excellence, and competition among students nationwide.

“The best student in the nation who scores six points in the MSCE exam will walk away with K5 million from Maranatha,” said Kaonga.

“We want to motivate students to believe in their potential and strive for the highest academic standards,” added Kaonga.

During the graduation ceremony, Maranatha also recognised its top internal performers with cash prizes ranging from K200,000 to K300,000 in honour of their exceptional academic achievements.

“This ceremony is not just about completion; it is about celebrating excellence, discipline, and dedication,” he said.

The graduation was attended by parents, guardians, educators, and other stakeholders who commended Maranatha for consistently rewarding merit and fostering a strong academic culture.

With the 2025 MSCE examinations set to begin on Tuesday, some parents who attended the graduation ceremony said Kaonga’s pledge is expected to spark nationwide motivation among students aiming for the  six-point score.
