Maranatha Academy has once again cemented its place among the country’s top ten performing private schools in the newly released 2025 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) results. To celebrate the achievement, the institution has announced that students scoring between six and eight points from both public and private schools will be treated to an educational reward trip to the majestic Victoria Falls.
The recognition comes as the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) released the 2025 MSCE results in Lilongwe and Maranatha Academy found itself among the top ten best performing institution. Out of 194,584 candidates who sat for the exams between 1 and 25 July, 113,708 passed, representing a 58.44% pass rate. A total of 202,940 candidates were registered, with a strong 95.88% turnout.
Speaking on the school’s continued excellence, Managing Director of Maranatha Private Schools, Ernest Kaonga, said the gesture is designed to inspire students and encourage a culture of academic ambition.
“This trip to Victoria Falls is intended not only as a celebration of outstanding performance, but also as an inspiration to all our students. We are maintaining the tradition of honouring excellence; therefore, the best-performing students from both public and private schools who score between six and eight points will be included in the trip. Academic success should be accompanied by experiences that broaden horizons, and we believe this reward will encourage others to strive for similar excellence,” said Kaonga.
Maranatha Academy, which continues to send hundreds of students to public universities each year, has consistently championed value for money in private education. Kaonga has previously stressed that parents deserve tangible results for their investment, and the academy’s consistent ranking among the nation’s best schools underscores this commitment.
With the release of this year’s results, the Victoria Falls initiative stands as both a reward for excellence and a motivation for future achievers, reinforcing Maranatha’s role as one of Malawi’s leading private educational institutions.
