Malawi National Women’s Football team, the Scorchers, will face Zambia on Thursday in the Semifinal of the COSAFA Women’s championship at Wolfson Stadium in South Africa.
This comes after Zambia defeated Comoros 7-0 at Madibaz Stadium in South Africa on Tuesday.
Malawi and Zambia have joined the hosts in the semis who await the winner between Mozambique and Lesotho this afternoon.
Mozambique need only draw to win Group D, which they top with 3 points, Zimbabwe is second with same points but separated by goals while Lesotho is last with no point.
If Mozambique does top the group, they will take on South Africa in Thursday’s semi-final — but if opponents Lesotho win, it will be a three-way tie, along with Zimbabwe, for top place and goal difference will decide.
