Limbe Police crime drops by 1%

Crime rate at Limbe Police Station has decreased by 1% in the just ended 8 months compared to the period last year, the station’s Executive Committee (SEC) has confirmed.

This committee revealed this at Blantyre City Council on Thursday where they had a meeting aiming to scrutinise how the station and it’s related branches has performed.

According to statistics presented during the meeting, from January to August 2023, the station registered 740 criminal cases, while in the same period in 2024, the number of cases dropped to 705.

Bangwe sub-station recorded a 5 percent decrease, from 508 cases in 2023 to 477 in 2024. However, Bvumbwe post registered a 6 percent increase, with 397 cases in 2024, up from 359 during the same period in 2023.
