President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has urged traditional leaders from the Eastern Region to continue fostering peace in their areas despite the recent tragic events in Malawi.
Speaking at Chikoko Bay State Lodge in Mangochi, Dr. Chakwera emphasized on the importance of maintaining peaceful dialogue within communities as the nation mourns the lives that were lost in a plane crash last month.
Dr. Chakwera also assured the Chiefs that the government is actively working on programmes targeting them and the youth, where they will be provided with loans to improve their livelihoods.
He encouraged them to maintain harmony and to support each other within their communities.
