Kamwala clinic brings services closer to communities

People from Kamwala in the area of Traditional Authority Kabunduli in Nkhata Bay District will no longer travel long distance to access medical help following the completion of construction works at Kamwala Clinic, including a staff house.

Speaking in an interview at Kamwala, Leni Mwale from Mageza Village said they are now easily accessing vaccines for their babies and family planning methods unlike in the past where they could only access the same in Mzuzu.

NKhata Bay District’s Director of Planning and Development, Edgar Chihana, said he is impressed with how the Governance to Enable Service Delivery (GESD) projects are helping to improve service delivery of the council and urged community members to take good care of the projects.

A total of K48 million has been spent in constructing the staff house and the clinic, which is catering for over 1000 under five children and mothers.

It falls under second cycle of GESD through National Local Government Finance Committee.
