Mike Appel and Gatto Limited, the official distributor of JAC Motors in Malawi, has launched its latest line of double cab vehicles the JAC T8 and the flagship JAC T9 in Lilongwe.
Speaking during the launch, Chief Executive Officer, Nazeer Osman, described the JAC T9 as a revolutionary addition to Malawi’s vehicle market, combining cutting-edge features, superior performance, and affordability.
“We are excited to bring the JAC T8 and JAC T9 to Lilongwe and Malawi at large,” Osman said. “These vehicles are loaded with features that raise the bar for what Malawians should expect from a double cab.”

Describing the T9’s capabilities, Osman said that the model recently shattered the 24-hour endurance record in South Africa a title previously held for 15 years by another brand. Following this milestone, the company has extended its local warranty to five years or 200,000 kilometres, and is offering a free five-year or 100,000-kilometre service plan.
Describing the T9 as “the ultimate in a double cab,” Osman explained that it comes fully equipped, with all features included as standard no hidden costs for add-ons. Despite its premium finish and luxury fittings Osman said the T9 is priced significantly lower than competitors, approximately 30 percent cheaper.

The T9 boasts a robust build with a payload capacity of over one tonne and a towing capability of more than three and a half tonnes. Its powerful two-litre engine delivers 500Nm of torque, making it both strong and fuel-efficient, with a range of up to 1,100 kilometres on less than 80 litres of fuel.
The company says JAC T8, positioned as a reliable workhorse, also comes fully kitted out with leather seats, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, reverse camera, airbags, and xenon headlamps. Like the T9, it is backed by the same warranty and service plan.
“Affordability matters,” said Osman. “When you combine the low purchase price with five years of free servicing covering oil and filters you get unmatched value in the market,” concluded Osman.
