According to Karonga Police Station Public Relations Officer, Sergeant George Mulewa, the incident occurred on the afternoon of 5 August, and the injured person is currently receiving medical treatment at Karonga District Hospital.

“Meanwhile, police in the district have instituted investigations to find the details of the cause of the fire, total damages, as well as particulars of the injured person,” Mulewa said.
