Defence wants Mary Bushiri discharged from extradition case

The defence in the extradition case of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary has argued that Mary Bushiri has no case for extradition.

This follows State Witness Sibongire Mnzinyathi’s confirmation in court that, although Mary’s name is on the charge sheet, there is no evidence she committed any offence.

According to Chief State Advocate, Dzikondianthu Malunda, the State will address the issues during the final submissions.

“We respect the court rulings which we believe will address the issue extensively in the final analysis,” said Malunda.

Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza has adjourned the case to Friday morning when the defence will continue cross-examining Mnzinyathi.
