CZ Police launch manhunt for suspect

Chiradzulu Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly assaulted to death Harrison Kaliyati, 32, on June 4, 2024.

Chiradzulu Police’s spokesperson, Lovice Mulinde, says Kaliyati went on a drinking spree and hired a motorcycle around 5pm but refused to pay the K500 fare, claiming he had already paid.

The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which the rider allegedly struck Kaliyati with a crash helmet and run him over around the abdomen, causing injuries.

Kaliyati was taken to Chiradzulu District Hospital where he died on the night of June 5-6, 2024.

Kaliyati was from Mbalame Village, Traditional Authority Mpama in Chiradzulu District.
