President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has launched the 2022 Affordable Input Programme in the area of Traditional Authority Kachere in Dedza.
During the function, Dr Chakwera inspected pavilions at Maonde School Ground.
The 2022 AIP will benefit 2.5 million farmers and a bag of fertilizer will be redeemed at K15,000.
However, beneficiaries from Balaka and Rumphi will instead be given two goats each at the same price.
The decision was arrived at after analysing that these districts have poor maize output due to several factors including dry spells.
