President Dr Lazarus Chakwera says government has mobilised resources that will be used to roll out mega-farms as one way of dealing with hunger in the country. Dr Chakwera made the assurance at Simbi Primary School Ground in Senior Chief Chakhadza’s area in Dowa.
The Malawi leader said he is aware of the problems facing the country. He further said the country’s challenges need concerted efforts to take the country forward. He disclosed that government has resources to roll out the mega-farms and he will ensure that by November this year, the first harvest should be realised.
Dr Chakwera further said for Malawi to realise the Malawi 2063 aspirations it needs people with constructive reasoning like Napoleon Dzombe. He said the pull-down syndrome will not help the country.
Speaking earlier Senior Chief Dzoole asked the President to assist the people of Dowa as hunger is looming in the area. He lauded the government for opening ADMARC depots in the district. Concurring with Senior Chief Dzoole, Senior Chief Chakhadza, asked for a better road network to connect the area with markets.
Central Region’s Chairman of the Malawi Congress Party, Patrick Zebron Chilondola, lauded the Chakwera Administration for facilitating development in the country.
Summing up, Secretary General of MCP, Eisenhower Mkaka, said the party is reaching out to all people at the grassroots as evidenced by huge turnout in rallies. He then encouraged the President to continue with the visionary leadership and attract more investors to the country.
