President Dr Lazarus Chakwera says his government will continue working with the youth at various levels of development as they have the potential to contribute to the county’s transformation.
Dr Chakwera was speaking in Lilongwe during a dinner he hosted for youth leaders from across Malawi.
The Malawi leader said it is pleasing to note that the youth are involved in advocacy for more efficient governance institutions, very active in job and wealth creation endeavours and for challenging archaic cultural beliefs that have held back Malawi in innovations and entrepreneurship.
Speaking earlier, Minister of Youth and Sports, Uchizi Mkandawire and Board Chairperson for the National Youth Council of Malawi, Duncan Chiyani, thanked President Chakwera for dedicating the whole day to the youth, saying this serves as a huge inspiration for all young people in Malawi.
