President Dr Lazarus Chakwera says digital connectivity is key to achieving the Malawi 2063 agenda.
Dr Chakwera made the remarks at the Next 3 Billion Digital Forum in New York, USA.
During the forum, President Chakwera highlighted some of the achievements under his administration, particularly on digital transformation, saying many Malawians are now connected to the internet.
The President said Malawi has laid down proper infrastructure development in the digitalisation drive but pointed out that the country needs support from elsewhere to purchase gadgets.
Dr Chakwera urged potential investors to come to Malawi and establish their businesses, saying the government has created a conducive environment for them.
Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority (MACRA)Director General, Daud Suleiman, said the initiative by Semafor Foundation is key to improving digital inclusion.
