President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has arrived in Karonga through Karonga Airport.
While in the district, the president is scheduled to undertake a number of official engagements.
Upon arrival, the Malawi leader was welcomed by government officials and Tonse Alliance officials.
The President is expected to cheer people who were affected by floods at Kambwe camp, inspect the Karonga water project and Nthola Ilora rice factory under construction at Mwenilondo before touring Wovwe irrigation scheme, which government has just rehabilitated.
