Bushiri extradition case resumes

The Bushiri extradition case has resumed this afternoon at Chief Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe after a one-and-a-half-hour break.

Defence advocate, Annelene Van De Heever, has asked the state witness Sibongire Mnzinyathi to explain how the affidavit in one of the charges for the Bushiris came about.

Mnzinyathi says there were various investigations going on and after the fugitives fled from South Africa, they agreed to make an extradition request.

Mnzinyathi says it was after this agreement that the draft affidavit was made and he signed it, after having been satisfied with its contents.
