FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on Wednesday night dominated the Castel Challenge Cup awards.
Earlier, Castel Malawi Limited announced an increase in the prize money for the Castel Challenge Cup from K320 million to K400 million.
The company’s Managing Director, Thomas Reynaud, says he anticipates an exciting season ahead.
And Fleetwood Haiya, President of the Football Association of Malawi, believes the 25% hike is a testament to the growing value of football.
The award ceremony has been held in Blantyre.
Below are some of the awardees:
– Player of the Tournament: Lanjesi Nkhoma (FCB Nyasa Big Bullets)
– Discovery of the Tournament: Emmanuel Saviel (Bangwe All Stars, now with Civil Service United)
– Goalkeeper of the Tournament: Richard Chimbamba (FCB Nyasa Big Bullets)
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets also received the Team of the Tournament award.
Bullets are the defending champions of the tournament, which started last year following a partnership between FAM and Castle in a three-year deal.
