Artists still paying Martse homage

On what would have been Martse’s 30th birthday, Malawian artists and fans came together to pay tribute to the late rapper’s memory.

Gwamba and Charisma led the charge, taking to social media and the stage at Charisma’s Blantyre City Heist concert to celebrate Martse’s life and legacy.

At the concert, the artists performed hits they collaborated on with Martse over the years.

Who can forget the iconic ‘Ghetto Sisunga Kape’ with Charisma or the anthemic ‘Zimuvuta’ with Gwamba? The crowd sang along, remembering the talented artist who left us too soon.

Martse, whose real name was Martin Nkhata, died in 2022 after the house he slept in caught fire, in Mangochi.
