The High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned the case involving Lester Maganga, suspected of murdering a Coca-Cola Company employee, Allan Wittika, to 13 February.
The state said it will parade 15 witnesses, who will bring exhibits such as pictures, medical reports, and electronic gadgets as evidence.
Judge Mzondi Mvula said the accused will remain in custody until further guidance on his bail application is given.
Maganga faces two counts of murder and possession of ammunition without a permit.
