Businessman arrested for alleged rape

Police in Nsanje have arrested 73-year-old William Mark Kaledzera, a businessman, on suspicion that he allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl.

The victim, a Standard 5 student at Fatima Girls Primary School in the district, reported the incident to her grandmother, who then alerted the authorities.

Kaledzera was then apprehended at Tolatola Resthouse, located at M’bwazi Trading Centre.

Kaledzera, who hails from Matiya Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mlolo in Nsanje,

will answer a charge of engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor.
