12-year-old girl in urgent need of wheelchair

A 12-year-old Devine Sululu, who cannot sit, talk, or walk due to a condition that weakened her backbone, is in urgent need of a wheelchair.

Sululu, a standard one learner and resident of Chilinde in Lilongwe, is a twin to a sister who was born normally.

Her parents, who work as security guards, face increasing difficulties in caring for her. Her elder sister, Prisca, who brought her to MBC Area 4 Studios in Lilongwe, shared the challenges they face.

“It’s becoming a challenge to carry her every day when going to school,” Prisca said adding, “She is now very heavy.”

Prisca also highlighted the need for diapers and suggested that Devine might benefit from a special needs school.
