Wittika murder case adjourned to April 9

The High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned hearing of the Allan Wittika murder case to 9 April.

On Tuesday, the State paraded its 10th witness, Paul Mvula, who is a driver at Bambino Private School.

He recounted his experience, saying he passed the murder scene in Area 15.

He said he did not have enough time to inspect the vehicle as he was driving, but he had a glimpse of the vehicle and a person’s clothing in about three seconds.

According to Mvula, in that brief moment, he saw a male at the wheel, in a red shirt and observed the person talking on the phone.

The State was supposed to parade three witnesses today, Mwayiwawo Personi, Officer Kubwalo and Mvula but only Mvula testified today.

State Lawyer Pililani Masanjala told the court that the State is finding it difficult to communicate with Personi.

During cross examination, the State presented video footage to the 10th witness, Mvula, who said the objects in the video looked afar and he could only see that the person in the video was wearing a red top.

The State has approximately four witnesses yet to parade in court.
