JENDA POLICE BUST 98 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

Jenda Police Station has apprehended 98 illegal immigrants of Ethiopian origin who were travelling to Lilongwe.

A spokesperson for the station, MacFarlane Mseteka, said the officers shot a tyre of one of the vehicles as the driver attempted to divert a mounted ad-hoc roadblock.

The driver of the vehicle a Fuso Fighter Van registration number NN 4023 fled the scene, so too with an unknown individual.

Meanwhile, the police say they are looking for two other vehicles which they suspect to have been accomplices in the crime.
